4. Are Perma Plate Products a gimmick that dealers sell to make a lot of money, or is it really worth it?

Dealers, especially in this market, are very interested in customer retention and loyalty.  PermaPlate products are viewed by dealerships as products that will help the consumer retain value in his/her automobile investment.

PermaPlate Paintguard is a sealant, not a wax.  It brings out the brilliance in the color of the paint and produces a glossy, mirror-like finish.  Microscopic examination of a vehicle's paint reveals an uneven, imperfect surface.  Paintguard smoothes these irregularities leaving a more uniform surface.  Paintguard physically bonds to painted surfaces producing a greater durability and resistance against environmental elements, which can cause fading, oxidation and loss of gloss.  Paintguard is an amino-functional based cross-bonding detergent resistant compound.  The product is composed of silicone resins, aminofunctional polysiloxane and demethyl siloxanes, cross-linking polymers and polishing agents - the product is not a "cheap wax". In addition, Paintguard comes with a warranty that ensures that any covered damage is repaired or recondition to it's original state, we haven't heard of any wax that can provide that type of assurance.
